How to Tend Batik Tulis

Batik become a trend nowadays. However, less of people who know how to care for the color of batik so that it remains durable. Here are some alternative ways of caring for batik.
  1. Use a special soap for washing batik cloth.
  2. Or, wash your batik cloth with hair shampoo. Previously, dissolve shampoo in water until no part of jelling. Then, dip the cloth of batik.
  3. Do not use detergent and do not rub it. If your batik is not too dirty, simply soak in warm water. But if it's really dirty, such as food stains, it can be removed with soap or orange peel. Just rub soap or orange peel on the dirty part.
  4. Instead, do not wash Batik in washing machine.
  5. Avoid squishing Batik. And do not dry them directly in the sun. dry it on the shade or aerated space.
  6. When drying, drag the edge of batik slowly so that the folded part back into its original position.
  7. Avoid ironing batik directly. If batik looks very wrinkled, spray a little water on its surface then iron it with a piece of base cloth on it.
  8. If you want to give perfume or fabric softener on batik, do not spray directly on fabric. Instead, cover the first batik with newspaper, then spray a liquid deodorizer and fabric softener on it.
  9. Do not spray perfume or fragrance directly into the cloth of batik, especially silk batik with natural dyes.
  10. Save your favorite batik in plastic to avoid of moths. When it is stored in a wardrobe it should not be given camphor, because the substance is very harsh and could damage the batik.
  11. Another way to avoid of moth, give a little pepper wrapped in a folded tissue in the wardrobe where you store your batik.
